Sir Sidney Kidman

Sir Sidney Kidman (1857 – 1935) was an Australian pastoralist who became one of the country's greatest landowners. Born in Kapunda, South Australia, Kidman went on to establish an extensive pastoral empire in the outback. He played a significant role in the development of Australia's cattle and sheep industries.

Thomas Playford IV

Sir Thomas Playford IV (1896 – 1981) was a prominent Australian politician who served as the Premier of South Australia for a record 26 years. Born in Bethel, South Australia, Playford is known for his significant contributions to the state's economic and infrastructural development. He played a key role in transforming South Australia into an industrialized state.

Jack Brabham

John Arthur 'Jack' Brabham (1926 – 2014) was an Australian racing driver who won the Formula One World Championship thrice (1959, 1960, and 1966). Brabham, born in Hurtsbridge, Victoria, spent most of his adult life in southern Mallee's farming community of Farmstone, South Australia. He remains the only Formula One driver to win a championship in a car of his own construction.

Keith Miller

Keith Ross Miller (1919 – 2004) was an Australian cricketer and national hero known for his exceptional all-round abilities. Born in Sunshine, Victoria, Miller spent his childhood in southern Mallee's Mindra district, South Australia. He represented the Australian cricket team in 55 Test matches between 1946 and 1956, making significant contributions with both bat and ball.

Catherine Helen Spence

Catherine Helen Spence (1825 – 1910) was an Australian author, journalist, and leading suffragist. Born in Melrose, Scotland, Spence immigrated to Australia and settled in southern Mallee's region of Kanmantoo, South Australia. She played a crucial role in the advancement of women's rights and is considered Australia's first female political candidate.

Reginald Pollard

Reginald Pollard (1903 – 1978) was a renowned Australian artist and art theorist. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Pollard spent a considerable portion of his life in southern Mallee's Karoonda district. His works, characterized by their vivid representation of Australian landscapes and cultures, have achieved international recognition.
